I love the holidays and one of the best things about the most wonderful time of the year is the decorations! There is something so joyful about decorating for the holidays. I feel extra happy seeing all the twinkly lights, cute little decorations, and Christmas trees.

There are so many different routes you can take when decorating this holiday season. You can decorate a little or go big all while still being festive. Maybe you’re more into the neutral look or colorful and bold. Or your decorating style could be classic or playful.

Whatever you prefer, I’m sure you have your favorite decor in storage but it’s always exciting to add a few new pieces to your collection. I have found some of the best Christmas decorations that you need to add to your decorating this holiday season. All of these items you will want to pull out each year, for years to come.

This post is all about the Christmas decor you need this holiday season.

The Best Christmas Decor this holiday season

1. Wreaths

This flocked wreath is earthy and beautiful with white berries, pinecones, and a touch of sparkle. It would look great on your front door for a festive greeting each time you come home.

This is a gorgeous farmhouse wreath. Lightly flocked and super simple but so elegant, this wreath could be used all year long and you could remove the burlap bow if it’s not your thing.

Something about red holly berries that gets me in the holiday spirit! This simple red berry wreath would be a gorgeous pop of color in a neutral location in your home.

2. Holiday Garland

I love a simple garland so I can add what I want to it like lights and or holly berries, etc. This faux garland is perfect for you to dress up to your own desired taste and it’s very affordable.

Flocked and pre-lite, this garland and wreath set is so gorgeous! I may have to splurge and get this one for aroud our front door.

3. Mini Trees

I think adding mini trees all over the house is such a chic way to decorate for the holidays. I have a few of these and they are so cute. I like adding these to my holiday appetizer display when I’m hosting.

There are so many things you could do with these gorgeous trees! And so many come in this set sharing them with your mom or a friend would be great, or even giving a few as a gift.

You’re going to be obsessed with these mini trees in a burlap sack! I put one on my kitchen counter and it’s so festive for the holidays. I like this set of three in different sizes so you can put them together or spread them out in various rooms throughout your home.

4. Ball String Lights

Adding globe-like string lights to a table display or garland can really take your decorating to the next level. These lights are beautiful and could easily be used for many different occasions, not just for Christmas.

These snowball lights are something I’ve never seen before. They remind me of the puffball garland my son has in his room but the simple white makes them so elegant and gives white lights an extra something special. They would look so pretty as an accent wall for your Christmas decorating.

5. Kids Room Christmas Decor

I love decorating with a few cute kid-friendly Christmas animals in my son’s room. They aren’t breakable and my son feels special putting up decorations just for his room. This felt reindeer is so sweet on his bookshelf.

Colorful felted Christmas lights are festive and adorable and would be a great addition to your child’s room. We put my son’s felt garland strung over his mirror in his room during the holidays.

6. Christmas Village Houses

My mom always buys me a new Christmas village house each year and I love them. I like to put a few together next to my fireplace. And if they aren’t pre-lite, I add my own lights. These ceramic ones are similar to a couple that I have and love.

I have a few houses that have faux snow on them like these and they are also so pretty to display. This is a set of three, comes pre-lit, and is a great price!

7. Reindeer

During Christmas time, I like adding a couple reindeer to the mix of my holiday decor. Adding gold to my decor is a must and this gold reindeer is perfect!

How cool are these brass reindeer with oversized antlers! I love these for something cool and different! They would be a perfect accent for a side table or a shelf.

8. Festive Holiday Pillow Covers

This simple pillow cover is adorable! I always change out a few of my pillow covers for holidays ones. It’s a simple way to make your home that much more festive and inviting during the holiday season.

I have some plaid pillow covers that I put out during the winter and they work great with my Christmas decor as well. These ones are so cute!
