The Quick 5 Minute Makeup Routine To Get Glowing Skin

Over the years, I have perfected the 5 minute makeup routine. This quick and easy routine will make you feel like yourself but with a -I just got 10 hours of sleep and spent the day at the beach- look. Basically, you look like yourself but with a glow.

I love the process of putting on my makeup and trying out new makeup products. However, I’m also a mom with a busy life. I’ve never been one to wear a full face of makeup and I’m definitely more of the natural look kind of girl. Plus it feels that much more exciting when I put on a little extra makeup for a special occasion.

I think we can agree most of us have pretty busy mornings most days of the week. I know I don’t have the time nor do I want to spend the time putting on my makeup. Looking put together quickly and getting on with my day is what I’m after.

Thankfully I’ve mastered the fresh face look with minimal products. This is an everyday look whether you’re a mom dropping your kids off at school, heading to work, or meeting a girlfriend for brunch.

I have found the key to the 5 minute makeup look is having a few quality products and following the same steps each time. I hope this routine helps you feel polished and put together so you have more time for other things in the morning.

Below I share my must have 5 minute makeup products and the order in which I apply them.

STEPS AND PRODUCTS I USE TO ACHIEVE THE 5 MINUTE LOOK:

1. Start with a good skincare routine

Take care of your skin so your skin can be at its best. Drinking water, using products for your skin type and removing your makeup every night are all great ways to take care of your skin. Everyone has their own unique skincare routine that is tailored to them. And if you don’t, I suggest figuring out your skin type and then finding products that will enhance it. For me, I have sensitive and dry skin so my morning routine consists of a few products and most importantly, hydration. My go-to morning moisturizer is argan oil by Josie Maran. I have tried other mosturizers, but I keep coming back to this one. Even though it’s an oil, it’s light, so hydrating and gives a beautiful healthy glow.

2. Sunscreen with a Glow

I absolutely love Glowscreen by Supergoop!. Not only does it provide SPF 40 sun protection (which is so important to keeping your skin looking wrinkle-free and young), it has a very subtle luminous glow. I wear this alone but I have heard it’s great at giving a glow under tinted moisturizer or foundation too. It is one of my holy grails when it comes to my 5 minute face. The glow is perfect for me. Seriously I’m obsessed!

3. Concealer

This is my OG concealer. I’ve tried so many over the years to cover my dark circles. This is by far the best I have found. It doesn’t cake and stays put all day. The product itself lasts forever because you really don’t need to use much for each application. It helps me look awake and when I apply it on top of the Glowscreen, it looks flawless. I use the color medium honey, but they have so many options for every skin tone.

4. Blush + Bronzer

Another trick to getting that quick and healthy glow is a little peachy cream blush followed by bronzer. Something I cannot live without is bronzer. It immediately puts life into your face no matter what kind of night you had lol. I’ve used a lot and I mean a lot of bronzers in my time but my go-to for the past few years is Tarte Hotel Heiress. It’s matte so no sparkle, waterproof so it lasts all day, and looks natural. I use the deep bronze color for the bronzer and Milk Blush Stick in the color Perk for my blush.

5. Eyebrow Pencil

A naturally defined brow can do wonders for your face but finding the right product can be tricky. A defined brow is the look I’m trying to achieve, but not too dark I like a defined brow but not too dark or I feel it looks too harsh on me. I have tried many brow formulas but I keep going back to this thin pencil. I can draw natural hair-like strokes with it and the color Ash, matches my brows perfectly. It’s at such a great price point too!

6. Highlighter + Mascara

Two of my fav products! A great highlighter in just the right places is the ultimate secret to a natural glow and I love this highlighter by Milk. I dab it on my cheekbones, under my brow, in the corner of my eyes, down my nose, and finally on my cupid’s bow.

Out of all the products I use, I have probably tried mascaras the most. I do my best to research and use products that are cruelty-free and this mascara is one of those products. Over the years, my eyes have gotten more sensitive to mascara so it’s been difficult to find one that doesn’t irritate them. I also love a formula that lengthens and thickens. I finally found the one and it’s Urban Decay Perversion Volumizing Mascara. After I curl my lashes (sooo important!), I then add mascara.

I love making healthier, yummy snacks for my son to take to school — and these are his favorite (and mine too!). 
I make these every single week! They’re the perfect snack or healthy bite when you’re craving a sweet treat. If you like Perfect Bars like we do, you’re going to love these!

Copycat Perfect Bar Protein Bites (makes 12)
• ½ cup peanut butter
• ¼ cup honey
• 1 tsp vanilla
• ¼ cup oat flour + 3 tbsp oat flour
• ¼ cup almond flour
• 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
• 3 tbsp chocolate chips
• Pinch of salt

Mix everything together, roll into balls, chill & enjoy!

I’ve been eating some version of this most days a week for the past 3+ months and I still love it!

• Your favorite tortilla filled with ⅓ cup pinto beans, chicken breast, or ground turkey breast + jalapeño pepper jack cheese 🌯
• ⅓ avocado for healthy fats 🥑
• 2 Tbsp Greek yogurt for extra protein & in place of sour cream 🤍
• Hot sauce because I need a little spice 🌶️
• Grapes on the side for some fruit + fiber 🍇

I meal prep the beans (or meat if I’m switching it up) ahead of time, so the actual lunch comes together in about 5 minutes.

I love that I get protein + carbs + healthy fats + fiber in one easy lunch without spending forever making it.

Funfetti Lunchbox Mini Muffins 🌈🧁 A fun little lu Funfetti Lunchbox Mini Muffins 🌈🧁

A fun little lunchbox treat that sneaks in some extra goodness! These mini muffins have ½ cup of zucchini + ground flaxseed mixed right into the batter — but you’d never know because they’re still sweet, soft and full of rainbow sprinkles. 🌈

They’re perfect for:
✨ school lunchboxes
✨ after-school snacks
✨ birthday parties
✨ whenever you want a fun treat with a few extra nutritious ingredients

Save this one for your lunchbox rotation! 🌈💕

Makes: about 24 mini muffins 
Bake: 375°F for 10–12 minutes

Ingredients
* ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
* ½ cup milk
* ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
* 1 large egg, lightly beaten
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* ½ cup zucchini, blended very smooth
* 1½ cups all-purpose flour
* 3 Tbsp ground flaxseed
* ½ cup granulated sugar
* 1 tsp cinnamon
* 1 tsp baking powder
* ½ tsp baking soda
* ¼ tsp salt
* ⅓ cup rainbow sprinkles + more for topping

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 24-cup mini muffins pan really well.
2. Blend the zucchini until as smooth as you can get it. You want ½ cup of zucchini purée.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla and zucchini.
4. Add the flour, flaxseed, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir just until combined.
5. Gently fold in the sprinkles last. Don’t overmix them or the colors can bleed.
6. Divide the batter into the mini muffin pan and sprinkle the tops with additional sprinkles.
7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until puffed and a toothpick comes out clean.
