With the colder weather here, warm and comforting dishes are on our minds. This easy homemade chili is just that. Make it on the stovetop or in the crockpot and customize it to your liking. This easy chili recipe can be vegetarian, or you can add ground turkey like I do, or ground beef, either way, it’s a quick way to get dinner on the table. This meal is perfectly seasoned with beans and corn and full of protein and fiber that will satisfy your appetite.
If you’ve tried some of my other recipes, you know I love a one-pot meal and this is one of them! Less dishes and clean-up are always welcome on busy weeknights which is just another reason I love this simple chili recipe.

Healthy & Easy Homemade Chili
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 lb ground turkey breast
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp 21 seasoning salute from TJ's or use Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 18 oz can garlic and olive oil stewed tomatoes
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp coconut sugar can sub white sugar
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 15 oz can pinto beans
- 1 15 oz can kidney beans
- 1 cup frozen corn
Instructions
- Add the olive oil to a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook for 5-7 min, stirring frequently.
- Add the ground turkey or meat of your choice and break it up cooking until no longer pink. Next add in the garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, 21 seasoning salute, salt, sugar, worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Stir until combined.
- Next, add the water, stewed tomatoes (with their juice), drained and rinsed beans, and corn. Stir well.
- Bring to a low boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 min, stirring occasionally, until it thickens a bit and the flavors come together. Taste and adjust seasonings and salt as necessary.
- Top with your favorite toppings. I suggest serving it alongside some warm cornbread. Enjoy!
