This really is a delicious Christmas cookie bar recipe that everyone will love! Warm and gooey straight out of the oven pairs well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Or at room temperature, once they’re firm, they will be chewy and still so scrumptious!
Easy Blondie Recipe For The Holidays
Equipment
- 1 8×8 pan
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup melted, salted butter
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar could sub regular sugar
- 2 tsps pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole wheat flour sub regular flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- pinch of sea salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup red and green M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F
- Melt butter and let cool until warm or room temperature.
- In a medium-size bowl add your egg, egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Add in the warm melted butter.
- Next, add the flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl and mix until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and some of the M&Ms.
- Pour the batter into a greased 8×8 pan.
- Add the remaining M&M's on top by gently placing them in the batter.
- Bake for 14 minutes on convection bake or 20 minutes on regular bake. It's done when the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool, slice, serve, and enjoy!
