This dip is well-loved for its creamy texture and onion and garlic flavor and is an excellent choice among those who enjoy savory dips. This dip is versatile as I make it for family get-togethers, parties, and for myself as a tasty snack or appetizer. I love dipping kettle-cooked potato chips, cucumbers, carrot sticks, and radishes in this dip. But honestly, any veggie or chip tastes incredible with this homemade chip dip.
I created this party dip years ago for a football game-day appetizer and it’s been a staple for me ever since. It’s always a hit and comes together in less than 5 minutes!
It’s so good that I sometimes eat it for lunch with a ton of veggies and some chips! Because of the high amount of protein from the cottage cheese and greek yogurt, it keeps me full and satisfied.
What Ingredients Will I Need To Make This Dip?
- Cottage Cheese: 2% milk fat is what I usually use. I find it’s the perfect richness without being too heavy.
- Plain Greek Yogurt: Full-fat greek yogurt is the best in this dip because it’s creamy and thick. It takes the place of the sour cream that is a base for most veggie and chip dips but greek yogurt is higher in protein and has healthy probiotics.
- Mayonaise: I like to use olive oil mayo but choose your favorite.
- Seasoning Salt: This gives it more flavor than just plain salt. I like to use the MSG-Free version.
- Garlic Powder: For a robust taste.
- Onion Powder: Another spice that adds tons of flavor.
- Herb Blend Seasoning: Trader Joe’s 21 seasoning salute is what I use, but any herb blend like Italian will work.
- Chives: For garnish and to enhance the flavor of the dip recipe.
